    Serious Inquiry

I am so eager to learn more about detailing that I would work for free. No Im not kidding, if youre willing to let me shadow and help you for one week I will be there (NO BS ). If you live in Va or Nc, I would be willing to come work, learn and shadow you for free. Consider it, no strings attached, I am eager to learn first hand from a pro. Even if you just let me shadow you on some jobs where your doing some restoration, or come to your shop and watch and learn. Thimk about it, Im serious.

    OTJT

    On the job training...

Nothing wrong with this especially if you can find someone that actually knows what they are doing, for example a member of this forum with a good reputation.

    Win/Win proposition

They get free labor, you get the learning curve flattened out fast.

If I were you, and I were really interested in getting some on the job training, then I would start a thread that states what you want in your geographical location.

The way forums work are people, like me, scan threads and choose to "click" on threads with titles that tell me what the threads about.

This thread has fairly weak subject, I only clicked on it due the curiosity factory.

Just a friendly tip, I have two related articles on this in my article list...

Here's the heading they are under on my article list as I wrote articles about topics besides car detailing.

    That's the attitude mate!
When I wanted to start my apprenticeship as a motor mechanic I done the same thing, visiting all the high-performance shops & offering 2 weeks free labour for a chance to learn & also prove myself in hope of getting work.
Eventually got my foot in the door & now I've been in the trade for quite a while...

Just make sure that you're not taken advantage of

    Re: Serious Inquiry

I wish you the best. If I had more time, I'd love to do exactly what you want to do. It's hard to get someone to take you under their wing and share their talent with you. I'm not like that. If someone wants to learn from me, I am more than willing to share my knowledge with them. Keep us posted.
