This gentleman had approached my months ago and was looking very forward to having his car done. So was I when I saw it! This was going to be a wheels-off, full correction + CQF detail and including an engine detail.
Here it was as it arrived:
2 shots of some scratches on the RF fender:
First up was doing the engine. I cleaned it with Zep Citrus and then blew it off with the Master Blaster. I then used UTTG to dress the plastic trim. That should keep it looking nice for a while hopefully.
Next up was removing the backing behind the emblems. Not as easy as I thought it was going to be at all! I ended up using a LOT of Tarminator and mf's and a plastic razor. Even when I had it removed, you could see the ghosting of "Challlenger" on the fenders.
Next up was the wheels. Even though I was going to be removing them, I still wanted to remove as much stuff as I could while they were still on the car. I used Tarminator on the barrels and faces followed by Zep Citrus and a demoted wash mitt. Tires were cleaned with Zep 505 and the wells were cleaned with LATA.
The trim on the car was going to be done with DLux too.
The car was then washed with DG 901 followed by a second decontamination wash with Ironx paste. It was then clayed using a Speedy Prep towel.
Now it was time to start on the wheels. Each was removed and cleaned more aggressively on the barrels and both the barrels and the faces were chemically cleaned with DG Squeaky Clean. Then each was given 2 coats of Finest.
The wells were also more thoroughly cleaned and then were coated with the DG trim coating.
Front wheel all done:
One wheel had this black spray Plasti-Dip coating on it that was a ##### to remove. I had to use several magic erasers + Tarminator to do it. Here is the wheel in progress:
Here it is all done:
And the other side coated:
