    1957 Corvette

Alright I hesitated to post this as the pictures I took didn't turn out all that great since their from a cell phone (my Nikon was recently stolen), but I was so excited to do this car I really just can't help myself. For a little background this 1957 Corvette was recently purchased after a 2 year stay at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY and is also the highest judged Corvette. Also this car was restored by Eastern Corvettes and this is also where I did the car, and I couldn't say enough good things about the owners and the guys who work there!

    Onto the pics!!

Here she is looked great, but from being dusted so much at the museum there were definitely swirls present.

Also it had a hard top on it at the museum that left some pretty rough scuffs in the paint.

    Trunk after it was finished

Front end finished and all the chrome cleaned up.

    Scuffs all gone!

The best focused light spot I could get since it was raining

Finished product from the back (not enough room up front)

    Looks great!

Was it single stage or basecoat/clearcoat? I think I see "black" pigment on the face of your buffing pad?

I did a very similar 1957 Corvette for Wayne Carini just a few weeks ago...

Fun cars to buff out, the tricky part is between the trunk lid and the inside of the rear fender.

With the white wall trim and red interior, I bet this was a big seller during the 1950s. Ironic how we hated communism except red was a big color back then

    Mike,

Yes this was a single stage paint mainly because of points during judging. Definitely a fun car to buff! and yes that spot was very tricky.
