There is something to be said about a set of nice, silver painted wheels. Clean, understated class.

I really need to get another bottle of AG Instant Tyre Dressing to try again, it would be at least a decade since I used it. For the US readers, think of this like Duragloss 253 in application and appearance.

Yeah, I really like the finish on these wheels, very easy to maintain, and they're not an ugly design like a lot of modern designs.

To tell the truth, I'm over having the black powder coated rims on the FJ now, it's a cheap finish, and they came with cheap lug nuts that are starting to rust. I looked at changing my current tyres on to my original rims, but the cost was too high as I still have the old tyres on the original rims, so they'd have to remove 10 tyres and put 5 back on and balance them. I'll just have to wait till I need new tyres, about 1 to 2 years probably.

I did think about getting something like the CNC Wheel at the bottom as well.

Yeah, they'd be hard enough with brake dust, but imagine when I got them covered in mud. And the only way to seal them would be a spray on hose off sealant.

Here’s the wheels & tires on a Nissan Xtera that I’m detailing right now. I used Meguiars D143 Non Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner.

Surprisingly about 90% of it was done on the 1st round with nothing too crazy. The 2nd round was done with just the brush to get what was left behind the spokes.

I was very surprised myself, but I think it’s due to these wheels having smooth painted barrels. I don’t think it would’ve came clean so easily if at all if there would’ve been grooves in the barrels, but regardless it was pretty shocking I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t think they were going to come clean with just that.

That brake dust looked like it had been on there a real long time. The interior looks the same way. I’m about to transform this SUV. Lol.
