    makita 9227

Hi guys, got a question, I could't find a answer directly to this question, so I ask. I have some LC CCS 5.5 pad from the pc. Recently, I bought the makita 9227 with a 5" backing plate. I found it very hard to control. I just wonder is it me or maybe the pad is to small? Is the 6.5 CCS pad will be easier to control with the 5 inch BP? If so i'll place an order on some new pad. By the way, is the kompressor 7" will work on 5" BP or will I need to pick up 6" BP. Thanks

Its my preference to not use small pads with my rotary. Ive never been really comfortable with me. I would recommend using a 6" plate with the 7" pads.

After a while, you will get used to different pad sizes, but I would say the larger pads are easier for me atleast.

A smaller foam pad or a wool pad will be the easiest to control. After some practice you will get used to the different sizes.
