M205

Can M205 remove light swirls when used with proper pad? After M205 can I go straight to M26 for the wax? I was thinking of using either a LC orange or yellow pad for the M205. Suggestions on the pad for the wax?

Basically I would like to start with M205 after claying to remove the swirls and then go to the wax if I dont need to use anything else. I understand that after M105 I would want to follow up with M205 to remove some of the compound marks but with the M205 being more of a polish with a light cut I would think I could directly go to wax after. I think that I have used M7 between M205 and M26 but is this really needed? Does the M205 leave the surface ready for the wax or sealant?

i think yellow and orange pad is too aggressive for the polish.

(I actually had question about using aggressive pad with soft polish and using soft pad with aggressive polish, but since no one answered, i might do the test my own)

also when you do test spot, start from light cutting
which is also good practice to see if paint is soft or hard.

I've used an LC orange pad with M205 and it works very well. I've also used it with the new thin Meguiar's cutting pad which worked well. Both on hard paint. But I did a tests spot prior to using this method.

I will definitely try out a test spot. I think I will try the orange first since I just looked and the yellow I was thinking was yellow actually I think is a gold so that would not do too much as far as swirl removal. I wish I had a white to try but I skip from grey to orange. I have used the orange with M105 followed by Grey with M205 with red pad and wax and had very good results.
