Re: lookin for non-streaking spray wax?

Optimum gets my vote..and I totally agree with "Bunky" in that it does go on better/even with an applicator as opposed to just spraying it on the surface.

While designed for ease of application, buffing is actually important. If you only apply like a QD, looks and durability will suffer. Buffing OCW is recommended and will prevent any streaking.

I turned my Dad and Uncle onto OCW, and it is all they will use. I can't even suggest trying another product to them they are so happy with it.

I used to use it exclusively also, but having bought a black car, I have trouble with buffing it in.

When I use it, the faint streaking seems as though no matter how long I buff, the streaking just changes direction and never actually cures.

Is this a result of using OCW over other manufacturer's products in your experience?

How much are you using? (Say for a 3 sq. ft. area)

    Too much? LOL.

Hey CEE DOG.. nice to talk to you (I've been away from the detailing forums for a bit)

I transfer almost all of my spray waxes into smaller mister bottles because I have a history of over applying out of bad habit.

I would imagine 2 sprays from a small index finger mister on an area 3x3.

They are the kind of streaks that you can only see when you are in motion, and look @ the car @ just the right angle.

I just wish I could use it a little more efficiently, given it looks so good and is so durable for a spray.

Hi Rob, good to have you back.

2 squirts doesn't seem like enough to cause that. Interesting, I look forward to what Chris says.

So no matter how much you buff it has like a very light film or is just streaks that continue to be "fluid"? Could the towels be contaminated?

That's a simple fix, don't look at it at that angle

I have a few sealants that I use with the same towels that don't behave this way.

The film seems to be a result of many of the slicker sealants that I own.

When I wipe in any direction, the streaks / film also changes direction.

LOL. Is this similar to when your car is knocking, just turn up the radio?
