Re: Review: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad

I have a problem with this bug scrub. Even after letting it soak in soapy water for a good 20 minutes the pad only partially softened. It was still pretty hard in that it took two hands to actually squeeze the thing. Is there something wrong with my pad or am i doing something wrong?

Re: Review: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad

This is one of the first "bug sponges" Ive ever used and since then I've always bought them in bulk. A cool trick to make it last longer is to cut it in half long ways so you get two sponges out of it

Re: Review: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad

Speed-Dude, I had the same problem when I first tried this sponge. I had let it soak a few minutes and it was still hard as normal. I was thinking, no way is this touching my car. The next time I tried it, I let it soak for hours on accident. It became much, much softer and worked well. The 3rd time I tried it, I used warm soapy water and it softened up almost instantly. My advice is to use warm to hot water when making your soapy solution. It should do the trick. Let me know if it works for you.

I echo the positive comments here. I find mine essential and use it nearly daily, since love bug season is in full swing here in Florida.

I drove 12 miles today and my bumper was covered in the stupid things. Pretty much drives me nuts. Anyway, this is a product that just plain works.

Thanks for the tip ksigna. I posted that last september but I did get a chance to try warm water and it made a big difference. Now I have to say it's a great bug sponge!

Re: Review: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad

Bringing this thread back! Quick question :
I have just ordered one and have seen nothing but great things about removing bugs. Has anyone used it to remove tar? How did it perform for tar removal?
