Not excited. Rupes came out with this machine 4 years ago.

True, but it puts another option in the marketplace. The German precision is always an attractive feature.

The new Flex Tool XFE7 looks cool Mike, the Hemi Dart turned out beautiful,
thanks for sharing.

Re: New Flex Tool XFE 7 - 15mm Long Stroke Free Spinning Orbital Polisher
I always like to see another option, but I can't help but wonder how much different this really is from the forced rotation machine.
Not as intimidating to a newbie maybe? Slightly better finish quality?
Sure, the mechanics are different, but what really is the difference in the end product and the time it takes to get there?
That being said, I'm happy there is another option out there. I wonder how many people are going to howl and moan about Flex copying the idea pioneered by Rupes like they do Griots?

I'll buck the tide, I don't think much of it.
Everybody and their brother has a free spinning DA on the market. Why yet another? Yes, I know Flex makes quality tools, and you will pay for such.
Maybe a logical expanding move for Flex, but I was hoping to see a small forced rotation DA, the size of the PC, or Griots GG6. I'm sure it can be done. Why not?
This machine looks very similar in size, and probably also weight to the 3401. Why then go this route? Why would I want to drag around a tool as large and cumbersome, and lose what the 3401 does?
Just doesn't spark any personal interest to me, sorry.
Now that cute little Rupes that will come out, oh yeah.

Re: New Flex Tool XFE 7 - 15mm Long Stroke Free Spinning Orbital Polisher
Rupes has been open and upfront with their new offerings. Flex not so much, I wonder why? Is it because the Rupes stuff has overshadowed them or because theres just nothing new, no long throw forced rotation just same stuff rehashed? C'mon Flex give us something, facts, specs, stats atleast.

Machine specs and offerings?
Is there a long throw forced rotation, that is longer than the current 3401 8mm?
Benefits, features, anything....
Gosh... Flex needs a Todd Helme.
