LC-43-073DA Dual Action 3 Inch Flexible Backing Plate on a PC7424XP
I've got a PC 7424XP with 3.5" & 5" backing plate & 4" and 6.5" pads.
The 4" pads seem a little too large to do below the doors, the very front of the car, and the areas between rear door & rear window, and I was thinking a 3" pad (and 3" backing plate) might work.
AG's Web Page
Porter Cable 7424 Backing Plates- Dual Action Hook & Loop backing plate for your porter cable 7424, The best backing plates for the Porter Cable 7424
says a LC-43-073DA Dual Action 3 Inch Flexible Backing Plate can be used with a Griot's Garage Professional Random Orbital 3 Inch Polisher.
Can I use the 3" plate with m PC7424XP with 3" LC pads? I'm assuming yes, but the webpage was a bit ambiguous.

I'm almost positive that all the LC backing plates for DA polishers use the same thread pattern so it should work just fine on your PC 7424XP.

I'm pretty sure Groits has a 3" backing plate for $5.00 that will work on the GG6 so it will fit a PC--it's not on their website, but if you call customer service you can order it.

I have not used that bp, but, I do put my bp from my GG3 on my PC 7424 and it works very well. You will have to be careful because the head of the 7424 is big and will stick out some.

I just measured mine. I have a 3.5" backing plate for my PCXP. From what I understand all of the backing plates from LC that have a part number that end with "DA" have the same thread pattern and will fit the PCXP and other style DA polishers. So: LC-43-073DA should fit the PCXP just fine.

Yep, check out the DA accessory kit from AG. I managed to pick one up last week for $150 on sale.
Everything you ever needed to expand your PC/GG to smaller pad use. It has a 5" and a 3˝" backing plate plus a bunch of pads, bonnets, XMT cleaner/conditioner, spur tool etc.
Not sure why it has 6˝" CCS pads when the 5" plate will run 5˝" pads but what the heck. I just bought a ton of 5˝" pads in the 12-days sale so I'm set. (Check out my post in show your order thread for the photo of all the pads)
Any-who.... it's not a bad deal for all the extra pads you get, including half a dozen 4"er's. Not to mention all the other stuff, including 4 MF bonnets.
The Complete Dual Action Accessory Kit includes 10 Lake Country CCS 6.5 inch foam pads, four CCS 4 inch foam pads, plus all the bonnets, backing plates (plus a carpet brush!) you need to perform any detailing task with your Porter Cable. We’ve also included XMT Polishing Foam Pad Cleaner and XMT Polishing Foam Pad Conditioner to help you get the most mileage out of your new pad collection.
This is an excellent kit for professional detailers or avid hobbyists. By purchasing the Complete Dual Action Accessory Kit now, you will have the items you need when you need them and plenty more on hand for future detailing jobs.
