Re: wrong already
lol, I guess I'm old school. Grinding and sanding takes a little force. Maybe I just don't realize how much I'm pressing

Re: wrong already
Thanks for the help guys. I do appreciate it. I thought maybe the polisher was bad.

Re: wrong already
What size pads are you using? With all the curves on a motorcycle using a 3" backing plate and 3-4" pads may help.

Re: wrong already
Make sure you have the washer installed on the backing plate. It will not work correctly with out it.

Re: wrong already
I did not install the washer. I'll put that in and see if it helps. I thought it was for clearance.

Re: wrong already
The PC doesn't do much below speed 5.

Re: wrong already
Get 5" pads and use speed 6 on the machine, don't let it scare you. You're working on curved surfaces which is the most difficult way to use a free spinning DA. If you can, try doing the hood on your car. Play with angles in the way you hold the machine and see how it affects the spinning of the pad. Once you get a feel for how it works on a flat surface you will be better able to tackle the curvature of the side saddles on your bike. Also, if you're using the side handle the goes on the machine, ditch it and put your hand right on the head of the polisher.
