Detailed a cool ride this morning, check it out!
So today I detailed one of the owner/sons cars from the vinyl shop I go to, Xtreme Graffics, a 1997 Nissan 240SX️
Here's a list of the products used, Sizzle-style:
-P&S Brake Buster
-4 of my detailing tire/wheel brushes
-IK Foam Pro 12 w/ 5oz of Bilt-Hamber Touchless and 1 gallon of distilled
-Gyeon Q2 Bathe carwash soap
-DPC large drying towel
-GG3 & GG6 w/2" & 5" backing plates
-Griot's Garage black 5" mf polishing pad, 2" white mf pad
-Griot's Garage Ceramic AIO
-Pure:est spray on, hose off sealant
-CarPro Darkside
_________________________
The car was wet sanded a year ago, according to the owner but it's been sitting around the shop and/or outside, so it needed some life brought back into it for sure, so I knew a strong pre-wash/2BM was in order...let's do this
I started with the tires & wheels, Brake Buster in the IK Foam Pro 9 was called into duty, performed like a champ, pulled up some brown from the tires which DID NOT look too bad at first All 4 of brushes made quick work of things, wheels weren't bad at all honestly but I was certainly going to protect them and for this I reached for Pure:est Protection and Gloss, their version of a spray on, hose off product. I must say it worked great, no problems at all! Next up...the pre-wash
The IK Foam Pro 12 was ready to go and it's contents were actually put to the test on this car but as expected, Bilt-Hamber laughed at everything it had to do. Because I was working in a climate controlled garage I was able to allow the product to dwell and KNOCK IT OUT and that's exactly what it did too!! I was going to use Nv Snow+ but Bilt-Hamber has been with me for 2 yrs, it's a proven winner but I've got great expectations for Nv Snow+ already...stay "tuned" I power washed it off, dried off the 240 and got ready for the polishing step
So I started out trying an orange GG Foam pad w/ the GG6 set at #5 and it did "ok" but when I reached for their black, mf pad, at the same speed it was game, set, MATCH! All that was needed, to achieve what I was looking for was a steady 4 section pass, the product removed easily and left the paint smooth and much more crisp
Now even though this Griot's Garage Ceramic AIO leaves behind very good protection (check out Apex Detailings review of it) I wanted to add "that little extra" as the owner here is a great guy and a little unfortunate side bar to today is that he lost his Dad this afternoon, so doing a little extra was the least I could doOnce again I reached for that Pure:est Protection and Gloss and went around the 240 and it came out GREAT IMO
Once dried I finished up by applying some CarPro Darkside to its tires and I'm sure it's going to last a very long time
I spent about 5.5 hrs on this car and brought it to where it should be now. Now yes, a 2 step would've netted better results but the owner asked for a wash and polish, plus I only had their Sat business hrs, 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. to work on the car. I hope they like the car but surely they've got MUCH more important things on their minds right now, may his Dad R.I.P.....
Btw sorry I didn't take any pre-wash pics, would've been helpful to those trying to see where I was in the process, sorry I was "in the zone" I guess

Sorry to hear about the shop owners father.
Cool ride, and the wheels are a throwback no doubt. You did nice work on the paint. It looks soooo good. Love bright red.

That is one clean 240. Nice job on it. What did it have under the hood?
Didn’t like those rims in the 90’s but now the kinda grew on me… maybe the nostalgia…
