No, it definitely did NOT go by the wayside! It's definitely coming soon, and I for one can hardly wait ...
I could be wrong, but I don't think AG will be a distributor of it though. However I do know of a very reputable distributor (for those who qualify to purchase the product) ...

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you guys! No, Finest was not dropped. I've been testing it for a couple months now. I have just been hesitant to answer on a public thread since it won't be sold here. It is going to be an exclusive closed market product sold to Pro Detailers for prestigious clients or high end vehicles.
The gloss and hardness is something else. I tried a muratic acid and chlorine bath on my test panel and even rubbed it with a towel and it didn't remove the coating. I videotaped it but still have other testing I'm doing so I haven't made the video or loaded it to youtube yet. I may not post it here when I do as I said it isn't an AG product and I love my friends at AG. Also in full disclosure I have something to gain with this product. I can't really say anything more for obvious reasons than that just wanted to be completely open on that fact.
Theres is a lot I would like to say about its makeup and other stuff but I better not do that here.
As far as application goes it is different than regular CQ in that you apply to a couple small sections and then after a few minutes or so depending on temperature and humidity before buffing the section off lightly.
Where as with regular CQ I apply thin and wait till Im done with the whole car to buff off. With Finest you buff off in time or else receive high spots.
The layering works very well and typically seems about 3 hours after the first coat you can layer. There are some good videos from europe about it where it was released a couple months ago.
Brandon of Express Detail was actually the first Pro in the US to apply it to a client vehicle. Here is his thread of its first use. I've spoken to him and he's really a very intelligent, down to earth, just really great guy! Theres not a ton of info in his post about finest but you can see his work and he is very open to helping people.

Re: Cquartz finest
I expect to have my first batch in the next 2-3weeks. I will share my thoughts as soon as I have the opportunity to use it. BTW here's a couple videos some guys in Europe did that tested hardness, scratching, and gloss level tests.
