New to the whole detailing thing though. I'm used to buying a thing of soap from Walmart and calling my car clean. Been searching the site for a kit on a tight budget that's effective yet simple.

What is your idea of "clean"? If you want to have a shiny car, you can have a pretty tight budget. If you want a swirl free car, you're going to have to drop the money on a Dual Action polisher.
