I know it is a lot to read and I am working on breaking it down a little bit. What do you guys think about the packages? Too many? Feel free to be brutally honest with me! I know simpler is better but I had a hard time including everything in smaller packages. I also want to try shortening the list and including add-ons instead but I am lost at where to start.

Also, I know I don't have prices yet. I'm having a hard time figuring out proper pricing so that will take a little more time.

    Thanks for your input!

Now theres a well organized and thought out list, unlike some new kids here who throw it together in a minute and expect to become succesful overnight.

Great job, now all you gotta do is price yourself accordingly. Very nice list indeed.

Remember, most customers are not detailers. This is why they come to you! By seeing exactly what steps are involved and what you have to offer, they are more likely to do business with you

Thank you! I agree most people like to see what exactly is being done to their vehicle which is why I tried to break it down without making it a novel.

Any advice on where to start with pricing? I've been researching a good amount but am still a little lost.

Looks great, but a quick question on the exterior only detail. Do you not do any machine polishing after claying? Even if you meant to omit it, you might want to consider adding a polishing step as an add-on to that detail. Just a thought. Very well thought out though!

My best advice is to determine a few things:

1: how long will each package take you.
2: how much $ do you want to make per hour.
3: how much is your competition charging for similar services
4: how do you want to differentiate yourself (low price leader, affordable yet good quality, or premium with higher price).

I linked a spreadsheet on here the other day that makes it really easy to calculate detailing package rates based on a range of hourly scales. I'm at work so I can't link it right now...

Best of luck in your new business venture!

I never though of that! For the exterior only I didn't include any machine polishing but there are probably some customers that want that service and nothing with the interior. Now I just need to figure out how much to charge for polishing add-ons!

Thank you for your response! I did a search and I think I found the file. Was it "AGO Service Time Chart"? If so, I am looking at filling it out now!

    Re: Price List Organized

I did a little work with the spreadsheet and other things tonight and came up a rough sketch of pricing. I intend to keep tweaking things around. Basically the hourly rate I got with my pricing was between $40-$60 per hour. I'm not really sure if that is to high or unreasonable. Here is what I have so far:

    Wash & Wax
    Compact Cars - $40
    Trucks & SUV’s - $60
    Estimated time: 1-2 hours

    Full Exterior Only
    Compact cars - $110
    Trucks & SUV’s - $130
*Price subject to change based on overall condition of vehicle
    Estimated time: 2-4 hours

    o Add-Ons (cannot standalone):
    - Machine polish vehicles paint - $40
    - Machine compound & polish vehicles paint - $80
    - Engine bay degreased and dressed - $40
    - Headlight restoration - $20/headlight

    Full Interior Only
    Compact cars - $90
    Trucks & SUV’s - $120
*Price subject to change based on overall condition of vehicle
    Estimated time: 2-4 hours

    Level 1
    Compact cars - $160
    Trucks & SUV’s - $180
*Price subject to change based on overall condition of vehicle
    Estimated time: 3 - 5 hours

    Level 2
    Compact Cars - $220
    Trucks & SUV’s - $260
*Price subject to change based on overall condition of vehicle
    Estimated time: 4-8 hours

    Level 3
    Compact Cars - $300
    Trucks & SUV’s - $380
*Price subject to change based on overall condition of vehicle
    Estimated time: 7-14 hours

I appreciate any feedback and thoughts on pricing! Thank you!

Very nice! Your pricing will more than likely fluctuate until you find an average of what you feel comfortable with profit wise.
