Using Griot's fine hand polish on glass?

My vehicle has many scratches on the windshield from the previous owner using wiperblades that were well past worn.

Every glass polish I've researched is formulated for clearing sap, mineral deposits, etc but not for removing scratches.

I bought Griot's fine hand polish last summer, but have yet to use it and I'm tempted to try it on my windshield. Is this just completely crazy and would it result in my windshield being ruined?

Or do you know of any other products or polishes for this kind of application?

Thank you in advance for all replies and suggestions.

There is nothing you can do to remove scratches out of glass. Well there is but you will more than likely destroy the windsheild

IMO if the car is nice enough I would just have it replaced.

Does your insurance cover windshield road hazard damage without a deductible?

Like a brick hitting your windshield?

Just be sure to put a moving blanket on your hood before driving into that brick.
    Gotta protect that paint.

Yeah insurance fraud is the answer... I know you're probably just kidding but with the cost of insurance rates because of fraud I don't find it that funny.

That's why I described it in such a dumb way, so no reasonable person would actually try it.
And I don't think that anyone on this site that actually cares about their car would actually try it. Who in their right mind would commit insurance fraud to save $300.00?

But you can polish out fine scratches in auto glass. You just have to be willing to spend about five hours at it. Well worth it if you have a collectible car that you just can't find a replacement glass for. Get a felt bob for your rotary and prepare to get covered in sling.

Scratches probably will not go, but for water spots and stuff griots makes a glass polish along with a glass pad for 3&6 inch DA

Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express

See I knew you were kidding but you would be surprised at the amount of people that would do that.

I work for an insurance company and file claims all day, 4 days a week... It blows my mind how many people we catch committing fraud, let alone how many file and then get away with it.
