How many of you use a MACHINE to WAX your vehicle?

I started using a Cyclo around 1988. I could never do a car by hand. I do wax my Harley by hand though. Just because the size of the bike is manageable.

Hey guys rookie question, if you want to put wax on the car with a DA would you have to Clay it? For it to not create swirl marks ?

Clay it if it needs it (do a search for the baggie test).

You won't necessarily get swirl marks from not claying...

I'll use a machine for doing stuff like the wife's car but I do it by hand for any clients. Most of the time that I am.waxing it is higher end vehicles and just from the amount of time I have been doing it I feel I have more control. It's just person preference for me

I've always wanted to learn how to polish with a DA but worried about damaging or burning the paint.

Does waxing the car still provide the same risks ? I'd imaging you just put a soft buffing cloth and then use a lowish speed.

It's much less riskier than polishing.
In fact, it's very close to zero risk.. You'd have to drop the machine onto the car to do any damage..
