Detailing newbie. Best general Microfiber towels & Collinite 845

Since you have the meguiars gold class and are familar with their products to start i would recommend getting some megs supreme shine microfiber towels and some Megs foam applicators.

Meguiars Supreme Shine Microfiber Towels, microfiber buffing towels, micro fiber, detailing towels

Meguiars Foam Applicator Pads 4 Pack

Put the 845 on with the applicators and take it off with the microfiber towels.

My biggest fear is scratching. I just want something that isn't going to scratch the clear coat.

The Meguiar's foam applicators are very nice. They will not scratch the paint. These are some of my favorite applicators.

What is the best, all around microfiber towel? I just want something high quality that won't scratch my paint at all. For washing, applying, shining, etc.

Question 2:
What are the best applicators for this? Is there a microfiber towel that can do it all? I do not want a machine. I want to do everything by hand.

1. The Gold Plush Jr's on AG are great multi-purpose towels--surprised no one mentioned. They are great for paste/liquid/spray waxes and sealants, QD's, rinseless/waterless washes, etc.

2. I've always used foam applicators for Colli 845. Try Wolfgang German Polish N’ Wax Applicator has two sides of premium foam in one awesome applicator!, Lake country ccs applicators, wax applicator, sealant applicator, German wax applicators, P21s 100% Carnauba Wax Applicators, foam wax pads, or the WG/Pinnacle Polishing Pal.

Those look a lot like--identical to really--the CarPro BOA's. If so, they are very good towels--I've never used for anything that needed short nap though. Just remember not to link to competitor's websites, lest you get a little slap on the wrist

Also remember to get some microfiber wash product to keep those towels and applicators clean and working like new.

Do NOT use fabric softener when you dry the towels. It will ruin them my fiance has done it twice now.

Proper care of your megs microfiber will make them last a long time. I've been using mine for months of hard use and they continue to perform well.

Comma like you I am a newbie and just used the pc7424 Xp for the first time ever. I will tell you that I loved it. My truck is black and HAD plenty of swirl marks. It now has a depth and shine that I could never achieve by hand. Give it some consideration. As far as the mf towels go I went with chemical guys. The charcoal colored ones. Theyworked fine for me. There are a lot of serious dedicated and knowledgeable members on this site, which is why we are here. Take the advice into consideration and I'm sure you will make a decision that is right for you.
