Re: help with tree droppings
Yow, #1 on a DA...well that came out pretty well considering it's not labeled for DA use.
Some of those spots look like they have etched through the paint down to the primer--you're not going to be able to fix those, however I can't really see any defects in your after picture, so maybe not.
You really want to get anything like that off your paint as soon as possible before it starts to stain or etch. If you want something to last through the winter you want to look at something like Collinite 476S or one of the (many) coatings.
I think you're doing pretty darn well so far. You'd probably want to get some orange pads for your #1 and white pads for the 205.

Soak a rag in IPA and leave the saturated towel on the tree sap spots for several minutes. They will soften to the point that you can wipe them away with little effort.
Once the area has been cleaned I would inspect the spot with a microscope to see if the paint is etched to the point that it is not repairable. You will notice the paint looks like it is cracking apart if the substance has dissolved the paint's binders. If this is the case there is no need to polish because the spots are permanent. If the paint does not look cracked then polishing should remove the remaining etchings.
