Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I put this on my Michelin Super Sports last year and am looking at doing a touch up before I put the summers back on next week
I read a lot of these threads and it looks like I can just clean them and reapply?
Also someone ( I think it was Eldorado) said not to use it on Michelins but why? It seems to have held up well on mine
Thanks

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I have a brand new set of Michelin AS3's and just applied a tire coating to them last weekend, 4 coats to be exact and its been raining all week, no end in sight till the weekend, so I'm going to be curious to see how its holding up. I think Michelin's "soak up" more product, so that could be the issue here. I'm going to post some pics after my washing of them, keep in mind it will be just left over RW and a microfiber towel wiping, no chemicals to clean the sidewall this time out.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
Ok thanks. As mentioned seemed to work fine for my tires
So I can just reapply ie no need to remove the coating? Sounds like a pain to try and get it off and I have no reason to want it off, just touch it up?

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
These tire coatings don't need to be removed as they really don't last as long as a paint coating per say. I get a solid 4-6 weeks out of TW tire coating but even towards the end it wasn't browning.
I don't know a lot about Tuff Coat but IIRC you have to scrub the hell out of the tires for it to work properly...OR ELSE!

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I am using the TW. So guess I will just slap another coat on it and see what it looks like
Cheers

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I would suggest scrubbing them with D143/ Meguiars Hot Rims all wheel and tire or something similar first.
You will be surprised how much brown you will see.
I recoated my summers last weekend before mounting, without a good cleaning and it didn't take the same. Now that they are mounted I will clean and recoat.
The cleaner from the box, well I just don't know about that stuff. It works to clean hands after wrenching..

Believe it or not that tire cleaner supplied in the box is by far the best tire cleaner I've ever used. The only problem is there's only 16oz. of it, but it's more than enough to fully clean at least 1 set of tires if not more. Give it a try from start to finish and begin with a dry tire and you'll see tires transform into true black tires. I kid you not, I was surprised myself.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I will give it a shot this weekend. Gods knows I have enough laying around.
I tried it once,whenever and wasn't impressed.
I will let you know.
It does seem to strip the coating pretty good and gets the boo boos off the wheels better than anything.
