I've PlastiDipped the emblems, chrome wheels and rear lower bumper on my Z multiple times and never had a problem with the stuff. It can be a little aggravating trying to get the stuff out of cracks and crevices, but overall it's very easy to use and pretty much fool proof. And remember, if you don't like the stuff, it peels right off. Here's some pictures of my car to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Goo Gone on a Q-tip and there you go. Out of the cracks and crevices.

Also, once you think it is on thick enough, add another coat. If it's too thin, it's gets difficult to peel.

That happened to me the last time I did my wheels. When I went to go take it off, the spots that had thick, heavy coverage came off no problem, but the spots that were lacking that coverage didn't peel up with the rest of the dip. A spritz or two of my CG Hybrid V7 and a microfiber towel got it right off. Lesson learned. If you spray at least 2-3 heavy coats, not so much to cause runs, the stuff peels off real easy.

You can use plasti-dip directly to paint? Do you need to have a fresh wax on the paint and about how pong will it last before it needs redone?

It needs to be applied to bare paint. It will not stick to wax. It should last a couple years assuming you don't get rock chips etc.

Is there anything special you need to do to care for it? Just wash and go?
