    Re: New Truck deatailing questions

I got some Blackfire total eclipse tire spray with a order about a month back. Never got to use it on customer's vehicles. Tried it today on my personal truck. Was very unimpressed with the tire dressing. I cleaned the tires very good with bleche wite and the wheels with hot rims. The tires came very clean. I applied the Blackfire tire dressing with a sponge applicator liberally. I let it dry while I was cleaing the other tires and wheels. I came back and it looked as if I hadn't even applied anything. I applied another liberal coat and let dry, the same outcome.

Granted, I hate products that sling, but a product that costs this much and doesn't even show, thumbs down.

Im not a fan of the total matte look, or bare tire look. I definitely like a glossier tire dressing but something that doesn't sling.

I was using Meguiars Endurance Gel which of course has a great sheen to it. Im a little worried about the petroleum dissilates. Not sure if they actually hurt the tire so to speak. The bottle states No browning, and it has UV protection.

Try optibond tire gel... I like my tires to have a bit of the ghetto-sheen and this stuff rocks. I usually used aerosol stuff from the local parts store but not anymore! I mix 1:1 in a 32oz sprayer... Spray on and wipe... Then I spray a second coat, let it sit during my LSP... And wipe with the saturated applicator. It's not some permanent coat but it looks fantastic for the duration you would expect!

Thanks bud. I might give this stuff a try too. I have a sample of DP gloss tire gel. I tried it last night which seemed pretty nice.

Meguairs endurance gel does a good job as far as shine but you have to be sure none is pooled to reduce sling.

I bought some hyper dressing last night. I'll mix this 1:1 for customers vehicles. I'll try it on my personal to see if I like it first. The plan is if its good stuff to use it on customer and personal vehicles.

I read on a article written by Larry from ammo NYC that petroleum distillates harden rubber. Not sure if this is true.

Got the Hyper dressing in and tried it today on some just cleaned tires. It was applied with a foam applicator one coat. I mixed it 1:1.

It came out great. I am now a fan of this stuff. Mixing one to one gives me two gallons which goes a long way. Can be used for exterior trim, tires, and wheel wells.

Im waiting on the DP Tire Gloss to show up and will try it also.

It's also pretty good at 1:2. Need to order up a new gallon of it actually.

Also works well in wheel wells.

I plan on using it in the wheel wells.
