What pads work well with dewalt 849?

Surprisingly received one for Christmas, not sure much about it. Can you suggest pads that work well with it? Have Menzerna polishes and 2006 Civic if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Howard

I prefer to work with 5.5" and 6.5" Lake Country pads. I normally use flat pads and hybrid pads, but lately have gravitated to the waffle weave pads.

I like the 5" and 6.5" Hybrid Pads lately and also the LC Gold Jewelling Flat Pad.

Definitely look at getting some flexible backing plates,

Here's a few articles to read through...

    Rotary Buffers
Rotary Buffers are the most powerful type of tool used to work on paint. These tools use a direct drive gear mechanism to rotate a pad under pressure in a single direction. This type of tool works fastest for removing sanding marks after wetsanding, serious paint defects and oxidation off both cars and boats. These types of tools will tend to leave holograms behind that are best removed using dual action type polishers for a swirl-free finish even after multiple washings.

I agree. I use mostly 5.5" CCS but with the rotary I really like the waffle pads.

I like using the Hydro-techs but if you consider the waffle pads please be advised the waffles tend to sling more product if you are not careful.
