I was going to say that the spare tyre on my FJ was possibly the only part that was cleaner than any part of your daily driver, and only because I washed, polished and coated it last weekend, when I did a rotation, but now, that's not going to happen, you beat me to it. Nice work though, you wouldn't know it's the same wheel and tyre.

The way the spare is hung from the chassis means it is exposed to the elements.
I think I prefer the black wheel over the painted silver.

Totally agree. I'm surprised it wasn't done on the spot. But it looks GREAT.

Geez I wish I could add A/C to my garage, I would have had it fitted, like, 10 years ago!!! Sadly, the garage is not fully enclosed so would not be worthwhile.

I don't know what I'm more annoyed about. The screw in the tyre, the delay in getting away from work or the state of that spare!
Must have happened on the way to work as it sat in the car park all day and was not a breath of air left in it. Have had a flat on the same corner back in March 2020.
A colleague kindly helped me change it though, which was nice, after he rubbed it in regarding the horrible state of the spare.
I dropped the tyre off this morning for repair at the local Bob Jane and went to pick it up just after 5pm (they close at 5.30pm). (And before anyone says anything, I'm a gardener and detailer not a mechanic, I leave this stuff to those that are)
When I was asked if I wanted it re-fitted to the car I said no, "that's ok I can do it, it's after 5pm on a Friday, I know how it is". (As a retailer, I hate it when a customer walks through the doors as we are quite obviously closing, and then ask "are you closing". )
The guy then said, well, you have done me a favor, so do you one and make the bill disappear. Puncture repairs are usually only $25-$30 but I was most pleased with that gesture. (I'll also note that I paid full retail for 4 Michelin PS4S from them last year, so they got their money from me)
I didn't let on that I would rather be the one working on my car, or that I just really want to use my trolley jack! So he was doing me two favors.
