    Brain freeze. I feel dumb!

I mixed 7 ounces of Meg's HD and 28 ounces of water, which equals a 4:1 ratio. I've used some of the mixture. If I wanted to try 6:1, could I add another 14 ounces of water, or would I have to do that when originally mixing?

That would be approximately correct. Of course it would depend on the amount you used to determine what the exact new ratio would be. If you didn't use to much of the original mix you will be pretty close.

If you used 5 oz of the original mix You will have 6oz of HD and 24 oz of H20 left in the bottle. In that case you will only want to add 12oz H20

It'll be a little less than 14 ounces. How much less depends on how much you've used.

I've used 3 ounces, so I have 32 ounces left. So, how much do I add to get it to 6:1? I'm definitely not a mathematician!

1/2 gallon should do the trick

    a 4:1 dilution is 5 total parts

32 ounces left at 4:1 means you have 32/5 parts of product = 6.4 ounces in 32-6.4 or 25.6 ounces of water

to get 6:1 you would have 7 total parts. If one of the parts is 6.4 ounces (from above), then you would need 6.4*6 or 38.4 oz of water total. You already have 25.6 ounces of water so you need to add 12.8 ounces more et voila!

(little less than half a gallon)
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.
