Some Insight on What Size/ Manf. Canopy

I was looking around on here for people that have experience with portable canopies and the only picture I saw to give an idea of a canopy was a 10x12 canopy with a Mustang. It didn't have any side views so I couldn't get a good idea of how well it works. Really I'm guessing a 10x15 would be the ideal size but

1- Who makes the Best/ Easiest canopy?(1 Man Setup)
2-What do you use to hold it down?
    3-Whats the ideal size?

    Thanks in advance

1.-I bought my 12x12 Aluminum from Sports Authority and it is great. I didn't have it secured correctly once and a huge updraft lifted it into the air with me having just a second to grab one leg. The rest of teh frame got twisted up so high that it was above my roof. As the wind subsided I wrestled it to the ground (upside down) Oviously it should have beenn ruined or damaged. Incredibly that was months ago and I have used it many times since. Their is absolutely no difference in its look or operation now then their was then. I wish I had a video becasue you wouldn't believe it still works if you saw it fly and twist like that.

2.-Tie the legs to water buckets (Mike P. tip)

    3.-12x15

I have and used a 10X12 often, but would want one longer now as its too short but plenty wide.

One reason I posted was I can get a 10x10 for $50 right now but if its to small I'm not going to waste the money. Can you guys set your tents up by yourselves?

I have a 10x15 made by Impact Canopy. It is heavy (84 pounds) to move around but it can be set up by one person in less than 5 minutes. It is a high quality canopy built to last a long time so it is not cheap (I paid $400 for mine direct from the distributor...usually they are $800).

And here's the link to the thread with the tip, it was actually one of your threads about your experience with a portable canopy and I gave it a Blue Clickable Link for a title and moved it to our How to make money detailing cars forum group.

I bought a 10x10 for 50$ and returned it the next week. You will be shocked at how terribly crappy it is. Also it is definitely too small. Look to spend 200$ minimum +/-. I spent 200$ or 299$ on mine. Can't remember.

I'm going to have to go red back through that for a good laugh

Btw: I've been using my spikes (inserted into ground at opposing angles) almost every time since then. The one time I was stupid enough to leave them off again I was on the phone with Tad leaning against one of the posts when the same thing almost happened. I kept it down but I'm sure Tad heard some panick in my voice!

    What's the definition of insane....

Ya, I'm going to have to go back and re-read that again as well. Yes, I definitely remember some panic in the voice that day. Amazing thing is, you didn't hang up the phone (we kinda talked through the whole ordeal). I was thinking the whole time about the "flying-shade canopy story", and what a funny story it was the first time I heard it. However I'm sure at the time it was happening it wasn't funny...
