    Unhappy removing scratches and swirls

So I received my GG DA on Thursday and put it work on Friday. Unfortunately I was only able to do my hood but I expected that. The paint was neglet and had many lightand moderate scratches but both were only visible at an angle when the florescent light shine on it. So I put the meguiars ultimate compound to work and divide my hood into four sections. I worked over the UC 5-8 passes and the moderate scratches still remained. I gave up after and hour and figured I would work on it again today so I topped it off with meguiars 205. I was a bit dissappointed that I still had very light swirls on the hood after working the 205 over. I worked in small sections and with slow arm movement. Is there anything that I am doing wrong that both types of scratches still remained?

Orange with the UC and white with the 205.

Google Kevin Brown Method. You need to apply pressure. What pad?

I am using 5.5 LC CCS orange for the Ultimate Compound and used white for Megs 205. After reading the KB method I will be using the black pad with the 205. I think that my problem is that I didn't put enough pressure. I will do a quick wash then proceed to redo the hood and hopefully accomplish doing the whole car on Monday.

MUC you can work for a while, keep working it, if it starts to dry up, spritz it qith a qd and it will keep on going, i find it works better if you do 10 passes or more. i ussually use a coarse green pad with MUC and get excellent results

Will do thanks for the advice. If things go well and I get the correction I'm looking for I will move on to the whole car.

keep working it, wipe a small section off to check if defects are removed, if not - keep going SMAT technology is pretty cool
