Washing after polishing
Does anyone wash after polishing to get off the residue?

Re: Washing after polishing
If by residue you mean dust then yes. You do wipe the polish off as you go, right?

I do not wash with soap and water after polishing. I clean the paint though

Re: Washing after polishing
I don't wash after polishing because it doesnt leave anything behind but I will always wash after a good compounding. Compound is really dirty work and the dust gets into all the cracks and crevices. I hope somebody out there is working on a non-dusting compound with great cutting abilities.

Re: Washing after polishing
I usually wash after I polish - just to get the dust and any spots I didn't wipe down well - now I am wondering if by washing I may be introducing some minor scratches back in before waxing - I usually just use wax no sealants.

Re: Washing after polishing
I wash after I polish/compound...
I do so to remove any traces of dust and pesky residual oils left over from the polish...
If your wash technique is solid you should not be creating swirls....

Re: Washing after polishing
I always give the car a thorough wash before applying LSP.

Re: Washing after polishing
Ok thanks just checking sounds like my technique is fine - I always do a 2 bucket technique when washing.
