Re: Ipa
For removing polishes and waxes I use IPA or mineral sprits, but for final wipe I use a product recommended by my painter. It's made by PPG Industries out of Ohio and is called Acryli-Clean DX330 Wax and Grease Remover. It"s not cheap, around 50 bucks a gallon.

That stuff is used as well as prep-all (highly volatile solvents mixed, i.e. flashes fast (faster) like ipa) to do a wipe down before painting to make sure there is nothing that will hinder the painting. Xylene is something that is used alot and in many of the products used, flashes off fast and clean...mix it with MS and you get a good tar remover....but that is another subject.

That was never my intention. I respect what you say. I dumped the mineral spirits out of my spray bottle and back into its original canister after this discussion. It's on the dust collecting shelf.

It's not crap, it's more about having an understanding of certain products. Maybe buffing a car is like clockwork to *you*, but some of us are not nearly as experienced. Therefore, buffing a car *properly* isn't an easy thing to do.

I know it wasn't buddy. I wouldn't say anything that was correct or tried myself to the point of confirming whether or not it works. No point in just throwing random words out there or what other people say without trying it yourself, that does no one any good on a forum that is trying to do the correct thing.

Mark, don't get offended by Sean, he does great work and just gets frustrated with certain posts like we all do. No harm, no foul buddy.

No offense taken, honestly. I just wanted to remind him that some of use may not know as much as he does(as well as yourself). I know it can get a bit irritating for you guys, though.
