When you say Factory Tint we call it privacy glass in Australia and it's just a black ink that they put into the glass. There is no tint film on the glass and does not block out UV or heat typically the front passenger/ driver's side are not done so you have to match.

In my state of Tasmania it's 20% except pass driving side is 35%

Yeah, I remember that now, the FJ has privacy glass on all glass except the front doors and windscreen, and the front door windows are tinted to match, a pretty good match as well.

You can put a tint strip on the windscreen, there is a small mark that you can't go legally go below. I wouldn't bother on the FJ, it's already a bit like driving an armoured car. The sun visors are so far out in front that they give you separate side ones for side sun protection.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I haven't driven the FJ much, we've been in a Covid lockdown since last week, but it's rained a couple of times and the dust spots were starting to accumulate, so time for a wash.

2B wash with Mother's California Gold, then dried with Bowden's After Glow. Nothing special required on the wheels as they only had dust spots as well. I then decided to put some Meg's Quikwax on it, D'OH, I forgot Quikwax could be applied while I was drying it. I could have saved myself a step.

Just a random bit of info, I had my pedometer ap going in my phone, start to finish was 3421 steps. That includes set up, wash, dry, wax, taking some pics, and packing up when I was done. What did you do today, in regards to detailing?-psx_20210810_150949-jpgWhat did you do today, in regards to detailing?-psx_20210810_150836-jpgWhat did you do today, in regards to detailing?-psx_20210810_151115-jpgWhat did you do today, in regards to detailing?-psx_20210810_151226-jpg

I've actually tried 2 different sets of LED H4 replacements, non ADR, but the light pattern was inconsistent, bright though, in places. I never knew there ADR approved complete units, I'll check them out.

What was to be one car, turned into three today.

Maintenance washes for the XR8, Mustang and Ranger.

I'm really liking these Gauntlet towels.
