D114 is (was) a niche product. A money loser at worst or at best, cost neutral...I suspect. If it were profitable as they balance the books, D114 would still be on the shelves.

But, McKees is here and probably will be ultimately seen as a better product.
ya but the flaw in that thinking is that miguiars makes a lot of niche type products just for high volume detailers and body shops. they have a whole line of them that i wouldn't imagine sell any better or worse then d114 why do they keep them then? they still have d115 among others

    It's a Business related decision...

Yes I'm still crazy about D114 but today I just received a gallon of the N-914 I ordered. I think it's time for a shoot out. Stay tuned...

I did the shoot out with pics and videos and personally would still run d114 over n914 but since d114 is no more it's a good replacement

What did you like more about D114 over N914, just curious?

    Re: Still crazy about D114

Really it was just the way it reacted with the panel. You can see on the left that the d114 lays down on the paint and didn't bead at all. I feel this gave a better "cling" to the paint that gave me the user an impression of it working or cleaning better, maybe not. Just how I observed it. They both lifted a good amount of dirt but that was the only real difference I saw.

I've also have been using d114 for years and it worked for just about any task and at a low price point so if it was still being made I see no reason to switch, but now that it's not I think mckees made the perfect move in filling that gap and taking that place knowing people were going to want a replacement

I would really like for someone to compare D114 to N-914. I have made my conclusion but I will wait and see what others think

I did a review and posted the results in the mckees thread. I'm open to run other test side by side then I already did
