Need some product suggestions

I have a porter cable with 5'' backing plate
5 white flat pads
5 orange flat pads
1 bottle of hd adapt

Im trying to remove some light swirls and im a beginner

what suggestions are you looking for? Alternative pads? Compounds? Polishes? Waxes, sealant,......

Compounds and Polishes

will I be able to remove the swirls with just the hd adapt
will I need to follow up with a polish?

i would try just hd adapt with a light cut pad,

tape off a 2x2 area and try with the white pad first. if this does not give you the desired results step up to the orange. Remember slow arm speed and pressure on the first few passes then light the pressure on the last two. Give the product time to work and do its job.

If the Orange pad removes the swirls you may be able to follow up with adapt and a white pad to finish but I would recommend a dedicated polish.

If your trying to stay in the HD line try HD polish.

Adapt uses adaptive abrasive technology (AAT) meaning the amount of cut you are going to get is dependent on the pad you use. You may be able to finish down with adapt and a white or black pad. Do a Test spot.

Those are some horrific swirls,kinda in the rotary dept.I would go with a menzerna cut and a orange pad with the pc screaming full speed avoiding edges of course any polish will do maybe 205 if you like.

Or stick with 105 and 205 ,or pinnacle twins or megs 300.

Those don't seem like light swirls. You will need more than Adapt and an Orange pad me thinks...

However do a test spot, a heavy cut compound and aggressive pad should be what you need especially if that paint is hard.
