    Newbie needs...

I am new to this forum and never used a DA before. I plan on purchasing a PC 7424XP. I want to remove the swirls on my 2010 Challenger. But before i do that, I have a test car to work on which is a 1996 Geo Prizm which was poorly maintained.

    Can anyone recommend some products?

I've been reading these forums for the past couple of weeks and have come up with this formula:

    Wash
    Clay
Megs 105 (only on the GEO)
    Megs 205
    WGDG or Menzerna Sealant
    Pinnacle Souveran Wax

Any better way to achieve maximum results or better products?

    Thanks for any help!

Your listing looks good but I would substitute M105 for Ultimate compound. UC has a little bit less cut but is much more user friendly than M105 on a D/A.

Even with the M105 that is made for the DA?
And do you recommend a particular sealant? I would like the car to have the wet/gloss look...

    Hello!

Those new Challengers are gorgeous to say the least and I wish you the best of luck!

A dual action polisher is the best single investment anyone can make.

Compounding and polishing by hand can be done but it's hard discouraging work. A dual action polisher applies the muscle and the operator becomes the director. Working with a dual action polisher ensures finish uniformity, consistency, efficiency, and clarity.

Instead of starting with Meguiar's M105 and M205 consider Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction Kit section 2 below....You WILL like this...

    Dual Action Polisher

    1. - Working with a dual action polisher

    2. - On my Porter Cable 7424, I use the backing plate, and pads below

    Finish protection is as simple or as complicated as you make it. Before selecting a product ask yourself the following questions;

    • Is the car garaged or parked outdoors?
    • Does the car see winter weather?
    • Are you looking for maximum depth or durability?
    • Will you have time to maintain the finish on a regular basis?

Some great products that perform very well and are easy to use.

    Sealants

    Wax

If I had to choose one product for each of the following tasks these are the ones I'd recommend to you..

    Wash - Duragloss #901

    Clay - Mothers

    Compound - PG 1000 – PowerGloss Compound (POS34A)

    Polish - PF 2500 – Power Finish Polish (PO203)

Finishing Polish - SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish (PO106FA)

Sealant - Ultima Paint Guard Plus

    Wax - Collinite 845

Spray Wax -Optimum Spray Car Wax

Tire Cleaner - Meguiar's Super Degreaser

    Tire Treatment - CarPro PERL

Trim - Ultima Tire and Trim Guard

Wheel Cleaner - Meguiar's Wheel Brightener

    Wheel Protectant -Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

Glass Cleaner - Meguiar's Glass Cleaner

    Glass Treatment - Aquapel

All Purpose Cleaner - Optimum Power Clean

    Interior Protectant - Meguiar’s M40

Chrome & Stainless Steel - BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Metal Acrylic Sealant

You seem to be learning good. I would be careful with clay. You need lubrication to get the finish smooth. Never work without Lubrication. Da is hard at first , but you will soon see benefits of working with a tool like this. always apply moderate pressure and do not move fast over the paint. Work in 50 percent overlapping passes with about 4 times each
