collinite 845 question
Hi all. First time on this forum.
I have a 2010 f150, black metallic. Some guys on the f150 forum say the collinite 845 is not recommended for dark colors. Is this true? I'm currently using wolfgang highgloss sealant 3.0 with mothers on top. Would like to try the 845 after the wolfgang. Any other suggestions for black metallic to make it pop would be welocome.
Thanks much!!

Re: collinite 845 question
845 looks awesome on dark colors!
It gives black a wet look and the durability is amazing. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed!
Just ensure you apply it in the shade, nice and thin and allow it to haze prior to removing.

Re: collinite 845 question
Should I use the 845 by itself or is ok with the wolfgang?

Re: collinite 845 question
I've never used it over the wolfgang sealant, but have used it over Menzerna powerlock and over DP Poli-coat with no ill effects.
I don't see an issue as long as you let the sealant cure fully before applying the 845.

Re: collinite 845 question
I think you will be happy with the results, it is my go to wax at this point when I need something cheap, durable, and still looks goods for family/friends. Used it on everything from red to black.

I use it on my black 2011 Dodge Charger. Works great, beads water like crazy. I love the stuff.

Re: collinite 845 question
845 looks great on everything as far as i'm concerned. definitely gives black the wet look as mentioned above
I've used it over wolfgang as well as other sealants plenty of times (after allowing them to cure). definitely feel it amps up the gloss and the protection
I've read that 845 contains a small amount of solvents, which could potentially remove some / all of the underlying sealant. I don't necessarily believe in this theory and will continue to use 845 as a top coat, but it is something that's been discussed. If you do subscribe to this theory, consider topping the sealant with something you're certain has no cleaning ability such as megs 26, pinnacle souveran, WG fuzion, etc

Re: collinite 845 question
anyone used it over blacklight? I think I'm gonna give this a try. The blacklight will give it a great look while the 845 gives it durability

Re: collinite 845 question
always warm up 845 before using...I let very hot water flow over the bottle for 10 min..
