How do I remove dirt and old wax around emblems and badges?

I'm detailing my white Volvo and I've noticed that I've neglected the Volvo badges over the years. There is now a build up of dirt and wax that I can't get off. What should I use to clean the area? I was thinking of rubbing alcohol and Q - tips. I would like the easiest and quickest technique available.

super soft paint brush, you can cut down bristles as needed. Keep two, one for removing polish/wax and the other to use with soapy water to clean hard to reach areas. Boars hair brushes are great too.

Nope not at all, I use the one made for lug nuts since it has a tapered end (picture doesn't show the one with the taper)

Not unless the car is being washed and is wet. Some APC cleaners with this and car soap should get the majority, if not virtually all the wax and dirt. This little tool is awesome.
