What exactly do you need them for?

Everything. I just realized that ALL my microfiber towels are 15+ years old and aren't very absorbent at all anymore. They smear whatever wax or sealant I'm using instead of removing it and they are leaving "washing & drying " marks in my paint. They are long past due to be rotated to secondary duties (door jams, wheels and tires etc) and have no business on the actual painted surfaces.

I think you could do better for a hundred bucks. In my opinion 9X9 towels are almost useless, 16X16 is imminently more practical for most uses. Yes drying towels are sometimes needed which are larger and more absorbent. Specialty MF soap is handy but not required. Shop Autogeek a little harder and buy more than you think you'll need. You can get both quality and quantity by being a savvy shopper.

I’d get some of The Rag Company’s:
•20ea. Eagle Edgeless 350 16X16
(4ea. 5-Pack @ $20.00 = $80.00)
•10ea. Eagle Edgeless 500 16X16
(2ea. 5-Pack @ $24.00 = $48.00)

Fold and inspect - the STORE where they cannot become contaminated
Then "yes" that would be a good well-rounded starter supply of microfiber towels. I think we can all agree that Griot's puts out top quality and WELL THOUGHT OUT PRODUCTS.

All of those Griot's towels are top-notch. I have all of them save for the wax removal ones.
As Bob posted above, The Rag Co. towels are excellent. I really like my Gold Plush towels, and the RC towels are every bit as good or better.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

The only towels I have used are Rag Company and Griots Garage and have been very happy with both. It has been a quite a while since I purchased towels but as I recall the Rag Company had better pricing on towels. Either way you cannot go wrong.
