That's a lot of cars for two episodes.... I'm looking forward to seeing the new format for the show!

Any chance you guys will be filming in HD this time around?

Don is also shipping to Autogeek one of his personal cars and since he's a Hemi Expert I've scheduled two Hemi cars for his episodes.

Yes to the High Definition cameras and also new lighting and microphones.

Back in the day Big Daddy Don Garlits was the pioneer of Top Fuel dragster. I remember when he pulled up to the starting line with a "rear mounted engine" vs the more traditional dragster where the driver sat behind the engine.

I believe he pioneered the slipper clutch and invented the two stage clutch, both launched the sport into the next generation of Top Fuel racing...

Anyone remember SwampRat??.....

I've had the pleasure to meet Mr Garlits on several occasions. I have a picture of me having dinner with Mr & Mrs Garlits :coolgleam:

Very good people! Look forward to this episode!

I remember swamp Rat. I also remember him doing a wheelie at I think it was Maple Grove or Englishtown. He flipped over backwards. Afterwards he said, "I knew I was in trouble when I saw trees and nothing else." or something to that effect.

Yes, I remember Swamp Rat.

I think I went to his museum in Florida many moons ago.

Awesome! Big is a legend in drag racing and I have been privileged enough to see him at the races a few times.

I am also glad to have gotten to see him drive a fueler before permanently retiring.

Definitely is the biggest idol of mine and a huge pioneer in NHRA Championship Drag Racing. Ive been racing since I was 8 years old running Jr Dragters and have won many track and national championships and hope to one day get somewhere close to his level.

This is pretty cool, just talked to my friend Carlos and he's confirmed he'll bring his 1963 former drag car, a yellow 1963 Plymouth Fury that's all original including a 440 Wedge Engine with the original dual quad carburetors.

He says he also has a picture of him and Don together by the car from years ago...

This is not his car but one I found on the Internet till I can get an actual picture of his car...

Here's something cool about these cars, they had push-button shifters on the dash...

The 'Cuda isnt completely finished yet..Im finishing up gathering interior parts for the car to complete it but as most people know the 1971 'Cuda was different then all the rest in a few minor ways that make a HUGE difference in prices. Im searching for a dash pad that isnt cracked because a new one is $900..I will get some pictures of the dart when it returns from paint...:dblthumb2: Im a die-hard old school Mopar fan..From the mighty 340 six-pack cars all the way up to the 426 max wedge cars, 440 six-pack cars and of course the Power House 426 HEMI!!! If you want I can gather some pictures of the race truck i built for my sister. Its a 1992 Dodge Dakota converted from a 6cyl 5spd to a 1968 340 small block chrysler with a 904 three speed auto. My brother in law put his own custom paint job on it which consists of all candy colors.
