30 minutes is definitely too long, after I finish the panel I wait about 30 seconds and then take it off. Anything longer than a couple of minutes is going to be very tough to remove as you stated.
Learning curve I guess... next time I'll use it sparingly and only wait a minute or 2 after a section is done.
