this pic I took after I worked on the left side of the trunk, the right side has swirl marks. (hopefully it is not sideways.)

Great work. Black paint is unforgiving and the afters look very good.
I am newbie also and I have just completed my second correction. I still have so much to learn, but I already know so much more than I did this time two months ago when I first started browsing this forum. I now have spent what feels like a small fortune on supplies, but to be honest it's probably just the cost of one true professional correction, so I am already in the money and will save on every detail going forward.

Re: my first attempt at paint correction porter cable
Thanks, yes black paint is difficult. You can notice every defect from far especially when the sun hits. The first try is the most difficult after about half way on the car I felt a lot more comfortable with the machine. So much so that I did the hood again because I thought I could do a better job then when I started. Im just doing this to take care of my cars and not trust it to anyone again. Maybe later when I have more practice time in, I will work on other peoples cars and give them real results so they wont have to go through what I did. good luck!

oh I forgot to mention the sides of the car are a B!tch!! lol I didn't think it was going to be that much worse than working on the hood lol but it is.

Yes they are harder, not as easy to put pressure. Nice job on the paint!
