Which DA Polisher do you recommend?
Im looking at the Porter Cable and the Griots Garage. Don't know which to go with.
Thanks

Re: Which DA Polisher do you recommend?
As a long time owner of a Porter Cable and recent buyer of a Griots GG6, I would recommend the Griots unit. It has more power (which means easier cutting) and a lifetime warranty. I think the ergonomics are slightly better, as well.
The PC is a decent machine, but hasn't improved in recent years. The GG6 has moved far beyond it.

If you can afford the flex, get the flex. It vibrates A LOT less than the PC.

Of those two, the GG6. It was the first one I bought and I love it. Recently got a Flex which I also like a lot.
The warranty on the GG6 is amazing though

Is the GG6 as safe as the 7424? What about the Megs..It was well reviewed.

I personally reach for the PC whenever I need or want to use this type of tool. If I need more power I use a more powerful tool like the Flex, Rupes, Rotary Buffer.
Regardless of which tool you buy you'll need a 5" backing plate and pads. So click the link below and scroll down the thread for info.
Video: Mark your backing plate to make it easy to see pad rotation
Also, welcome to AGO

What I get out of that is Mike says he uses the PC for polishing or waxing. And uses the Flex for heavier work. That's great advice... if you have a Flex and PC. But if you plan to only buy one machine, it's a little different. You will want the extra power that the GG6 has over the PC.
I've found that the PC can stop spinning pads when you bear down for cutting. That's much less likely to happen with the GG6.

I like the Porter Cable 7424xp.
Granted, I've only owned an older Griot's machine, but I also have a Rupes Duetto, and a Flex 3401 in the arsenal. Even then I reach for the PC first.
