HD-DVD question (region)

so BBC america has this fabulous show called Hotel Babylon...its available in US for regular DVD but they also have a HD DVD version which is only sold in UK rite now ...particularly the BBC shop - "Hotel Babylon" Hotel Babylon: Series 1 (HD DVD) at BBC Shop

my question is..is HD-DVD...blu-ray for that matter Region Coded?

or can any hd-dvd/blu-ray play on any hd/blu player?

Im guessing this guy is right, and there is no region coding on HD dvds, but to be sure you could look around that forum more. Kinda sucks you have to register to search...

I know that Phiilips will play just about anything. They are not "region coded".

I dont see any region codings on my Blu-rays nor HD-DVD's specifically. Never thought about it till now however ...
