Lake Country HD Orbital Pads
anyone field test or try these out yet? is the foam composition going to be different than the current offerings by LC (hydro-tech/hybrid)?

Re: Lake Country HD Orbital Pads
I saw those in an email and am interested to see reviews on them.
I'm sure we will see and hear more when they are released.

Re: Lake Country HD Orbital Pads
Those are designed for the Rupes?

Re: Lake Country HD Orbital Pads
He (David from LC) brought those to the detail meet in Illinois. I'm not sure if anyone used them as I didn't notice and left early, but I remember him saying they were designed with the Rupes in mind.
Very well constructed after looking at them.

These pads are NOT hydrotech foams, as those types of pads don't do well with the heat created from 21mm polishers or aggressive polishing with these types of machines.
They will be available in about a month or so, and are made to be used on large throw machines WITH a center ventilated backing plate.
HD-Orbital pads are great for many reason, one being that they are very easy to clean/dry and run cooler that other foam pads on the market.
They are extremely balanced and keep pad rotation very well. The pad will not concave or (opposite) bowl do to heat creating the maximum surface contact.
I'm hopeful, and think everyone will really like them!

Awesome, can't wait for a (hopefully) cheaper alternative to the Rupes pads!

Looks very cool. What sizes will they be available in? I'm thinking they'll do well on the 3401, too.

6" pads for 5" backing plate, and 7" pads for 6" backing plate.

Mark,
These pads were designed to be used with a ventilated backing plate. They really need to have a vented backing plate with a center hole to operate properly, like the Rupes and similar long throw polishers. I actually will test them for durability and I can update you with my results as they weren't designed to be used with that polisher.
On long stroke machines they are GREAT!
