Time Lapse Picture Capture of the 1969 AMX Nebraska Project

Time Lapse Picture Capture of the 1969 AMX Nebraska Project

Yancy set the GoPro camera up to take a picture every minute from start to finish for this project. Yesterday on our flight home we reviewed about half of the pictures and all I can say is this is going to be very cool and you've going to love it!

Here's Yancy setting up the GoPro Camera for time lapse photography...

The below are some shots off my camera because the shots that you'll see from the GoPro will be from a higher angle using a Fish Eye Lens PLUS all the shots show the crew doing the work from start to finish...

This shot I flipped horizontal so you can read the words on the banners on the wall...

This is cropped out of the original above...

No Timeline yet as to when he'll take all the pictures and create the video so stay tuned...

Looks beautiful, amazing job, looks like its wet. What do you do once you take off the blue tape.? Do you hand sand the little part covered by the tape? If not can you tell the difference?

What a great way to work on a car!!

Looks like some serious damp sanding there, the paint came out super!!

Italian Guy, after we removed the 1/4 inch tape we carefully compounded the edge and tape residue off at a low speed with a small wool pad.

Plenty of compound was used to keep the thin edges lubricated.

That is going to be a sweet car. I know there are all types of time issues with this project, but I cant help but think would it have not been optimal to do this after the car was put back together to help prevent swirls and scratches from making there way onto the car during its rebuild?

No worries as Ben #1, (the painter), will touch up any scuffs or scratches after the body panels are all re-assembled onto the body shell. It's expected as that's how it goes and is actually normal.

It was much easier to sand and buff the various panels off the car, especially the edges... actually have an article on that and this technique is also part of an upcoming project...

How to buff off an edge using a rotary buffer

    Right Technique

    Wrong Technique

    Good question...
