How long do the Nanoskin Speedy Prep pads last?

I have the fine grade pad, and even though it still seems to be working fine, I noticed the rubbing surface is starting to show signs of wear. How do you know when the pad is done and needs to be replaced?

You can get about 40 cars. If you are seeing a decrease in performance then it will be time for a replacement
