Faster? You could use a higher cut compound if need be, and/or Xtra cut pads for bad imperfections.
As for maneuvering, get a 3" backing plate and accompanying 3" MF pads.

Meguiars recomends using their backing plate based on hook and loop compatibility. Does any Megs bp for 3" MF pads fit on the Rupes mini? Does Rupes BP have issues with heating up with megs MF pads? I'm planning on buying this Rupes lhr75e and I love the MF pads for cutting.

Believe some people have switched to the Metabo 3inch backing plate (Kevin Brown carries/recommends it). The LHR75E does mad things with its throw, so I'd just rotate pads and be careful. Pretty sure the Rupes pads would hold up the best.
Megs does have a 3inch interface/H&L system, but I'd stick with the stock Rupes or Metabo setup.
