Re: 3 Inch Foam Pads?
Well I did find them at AutoDetailingSolutions so I ordered a 6-pack (basically buy 5 and get the 6th free) of 3" CCS LC - 2 orange, 2 black and 2 blue. I figure that should be good for everything I'd need them for.

The 3" CCS pads are incredible! I approached Nick about AG carrying them, but he said the didn't think there would be any interest in them. I contacted ADS, and after a little convincing, they agreed to start carrying them. I picked up 24 of them, and it absolutely love them. They're about half as thick as the 3" flat pads, and they have squared off edges, much like the Hydrotech pads, as opposed to the rounded edges of the flat pads.

Re: 3 Inch Foam Pads?
Try the Meguiar's MF system on your 3" BP and PC.
You can thank me later

Re: 3 Inch Foam Pads?
Which backing plate does one buy to use the 3 inch pads? 3 in or 3.5 inch
if you had to buy from Ag, which ones?
Thanks

Re: 3 Inch Foam Pads?
Use the Meguiar's W63 on a rotary.
The Meguiar's W63 with an adapter is also suggested by Meguiar's for use with their MF Pads on a Dual Action Polisher (DA). I believe it has to do with the shorter length of the hook & loop on this BP, which may help keep the heat down.
I have also tried the Flex Foam BP, but burned it up. I think there is too much foam cushion and too much downward pressure led to the heat build-up.
I am currently using this BP on my PC with Megs MF pads.
Works great.

3" pads require a 3" backing plate (which you can get at autogeek or elsewhere)
The 3.5" backing plate is good for 4" pads
But to find 3" lake country flat pads you will need to use google.

Make sure you get a 3" Lake Country backing plate if you're using their pads.
