Question using 4" pads in smaller areas
I am planning on polishing a few areas on my car that need some attention, the top part of my rear bumprr and the trunklid in front of the rear spoiler. Since they are the only areas I have yet to ever machine polish on the car due to being a small surface area to work with. I am going to have use a 4" pad for sure, and it still may be to big of a pad in some areas. My only polising experinece is using the Porter Cable 7424 and the Lake Country CCS 6.5" and 5.5" pads, and I have had good luck correcting with them so far. I am unsure which pads I should choose, since I will need to start out with an orange pad to get so good cut started. I was looking at either the orange 4" CCS pads or the 4" lake country low profile pads.
I realise that with a 4" pad that heat is going to generater quicker along with shorter working times, but is either one of these pads much better to work with than the other? I am not a professional by any means, so it takes me a whole lot longer to polish. Plus I kind of prefer something that has a little slower polishing time that whay I can monitor my progress with where I am at. Which of these pads do you all reccomend I look at using?

I prefer the low profile pads myself. You could also look into the the Megs MF system and pick up their 3 in pads. D300 has plenty of working time.
