pad suggestion
Hi,
I have a truck that has Aluminum wheels that are very oxidized. I have a rotary polisher I'm just not sure what pads will be best.
To get into all the tight spaces I'm thinking a 3" pad would be good. I was going to put Mothers Aluminum polish on and then buff that out.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: pad suggestion
If it's clearcoated aluminum you treat it like any clearcoat on vehicals paint. With powder coated clearcoat is a little harder to correct but polishing as a clearcoat paint. If it's bare aluminum and you get the black oxidized particals on a light colored mf towel with just an abrasive polish. I would look into the different power cones and balls that Mothers and Flitz and Griots Garage has. It's used with drills these power cones and balls.
If you go with the rotary I would look at Lake Country rotary extensions and their purple foam wool pad in 3.5". Or if you want to use foam pads and getting even a smaller size bp and pads. Flex have 1"-2"-3" backing plate kit with a kit of properly sized pads. I would still get the extensions from LC if you don't already have those.
