Re: New LC Flat Pads - Change in Cutting / Finishing Order?
I just noticed that there’s some new videos on the Autogeek Youtube channel featuring Mike Phillips and David Patterson aka David@LakeCountry explaining just about everything there is to know about the current line of LC pads. Great job guys, and perfect timing.
Here’s the link to 1 of the vids. Check it out.

Re: New LC Flat Pads - Change in Cutting / Finishing Order?
I have been a Lake country loyalist for going on 20 years now. I have found everything I need to do with my assortment of their pads. Having said that and to return to the original question, I have survived this long with orange, white, black and gold flats and in 2 diameter sizes. I also have 2 foams, One from LC and a heavy cutter from another vendor mainly used on my rotary. Most of my work is completed with my Flex 3401.
With regard to green flat LC pads, like I said earlier, I didn't find a significant difference in my trials from the white. I greatly appreciate David's explanation from an engineering standpoint and now understand how they slot in to the line.
On a different note, I hope your wife and family are all doing ok after the emergency childbirth, David.

Typically people have always associated the white as a goto polishing pad. The green pad is NOT as dense as the white pad, but has a slightly larger cell and is more open celled. This makes the white pad better for certain jobs, white the green pad better for others.
We always offered a green foam, but Autogeek didn't offer it in the past.
I haven't kept up with this whole thread, but above are two things that historically have made things confusing are that vendors pick and choose from the line, or have their own branded pads, and that although there are important technical differences between the green and white foam, which may be important to a pro who may need a specific combo in his arsenal for a tricky situation, most hobbyists couldn't tell the difference between their results with a green and a white pad (or likely their technique may be a larger variable), so the presence of both in the selection process causes confusion (hence the reason this thread was started).

I hadn’t even thought about that until now.
