rupes 21 destroyed some good quality pads
hello autogeak.
i have rupes 21 mark 2 that destroyed some good quality pads.
the machine usually run around speed 4. i am trying to clean the pad after every pass and i do not press very hard on the machine so i have no idea what went wrong.the only logical thing that i can think about is that the heat is a result of a long pass(can take around 5 minuts) but i can imagine that a good pad made by "scholl concepts","rupes" or "LC" should be Handel with that right?
i use rupes liquids with the rupes pads and scholl concepts liquids with the scholl pads.
any idea?

Way to much heat to melt pads like that.or there simply good pads that have expired way pass there working points.

Your bufffing cycle goes on for 5 minutes non stop before you turn the machine off to wipe off the polish/compound? If so, that's the problem.

I can tell by the pads there overused.I use pads till they die.constantly buying pads all the time.

The backing on the orange foam is cooked to death and warped by excessive heat and overused.Ive had plenty of pads that have came apart like that on a gg6.

Looking at the way it's all deteriorated on the outer edges, my guess it too much pressure, maybe too much pressure while the pad/machine isn't flat on the panels.. I had a similar issue when I first started using my Rupes. I was pressing too hard (similar pressure to my Porter Cable) and I found I don't need that much in the Rupes.
